RESTORATION PHASE FOUR

Phase four is obvious when a person travels the length and breadth of modern Israel, which I have done on over 22 occasions. One of the ancient rabbinical signs indicating the Messiah will soon return and set up His rule from Jerusalem is when the land of Israel begins to blossom and fill the world with fruit.

Prior to 1948, this land called Palestine was either dry and desolate or a swamp. Entire sections of the country were unable to produce any form of vegetation or sustain life.

One such remote region was the arid wilderness called the Arabah. Often identified as "God-forsaken" by many Israelis, one section of this area begins south of the Dead Sea and continues for 120 miles south to the Gulf Of Aquabah. The width is from 8-20 miles, stretching from Israel on the west bank to Jordan on the east bank.

Since the beginning of time, no edible produce has grown in this area. The only vegetation has been a few frail shrubs and some Acacia trees, known for surviving in arid deserts. Twenty-five centuries ago, the prophet Isaiah caught a vision of God's blessing that would come on the land of Israel in the latter days.

The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God (Isaiah 35:1, 2).

The parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water; in the habitation of jackals, where each lay. There shall be grass with reeds and rushes (Isaiah 35:7).

Eight Hebrew words in the Hebrew Bible are translated wilderness or desert in our English Bible. Each specifies a geographical location in the land of Israel. There is the word Sinai, the word Negev, the word Midbar, and so forth. The Hebrew word in Isaiah 35:1, used for "desert," is Arabah. The location of the Arabah is the region previously described south of the Dead Sea where no fruit or vegetation has ever grown. No known water source to irrigate the parched ground has been available for centuries.

The situation changed over 24 years ago when a satellite image revealed a huge pocket of underground water in the heart of the Arabah. The pressure from the source was already breaking through areas of the desert, and shooting up small streams of water into the air. Israelis drilled down just 1,500 feet and dug a huge opening in the ground, creating a pool of water. Today, this natural water source lies in a beautiful pool of water, called Sapphire, in the heart of the Arabah.

I have visited this site five times, and can attest not only to its existence but to the fact that this underground water source is now responsible for providing water to over forty farms
